Not only that but you will have to make sure the kill counter for each area has been completed as well. This ending is only achieved after killing every creature. Toriel will ask if you want to stay with her and if you chose yes the final cut scene will see you sleeping in bed and she will bring you a piece of pie. Everyone will come with you and talk about their new exciting lives on the surface. Talking to each of them will give you some fun dialogue.įrom here you can head all the way back to where you first fell down in the ruins and talk to Asriel before he turns back into a flower. You will wake up surrounded by the friends you've made and they'll talk about going through the barrier. Talk to Asriel and you can choose to forgive and console him as he lets all the other souls free and opens the barrier. Once you've saved your friends and Asriel the battle will end. It looks like a happy ending until once again, Flowey shows up and captures everyone.įlowey will reveal himself to be Asriel, Toriel and Asgore's son and the proper final boss fight will begin. Undyne, Dr Alphys, Papyrus, and Sans will all also show up to try to stop the fight. Before the two of you can fight, Toriel will knock him out of the way. Once this is all done you can return to battle King Asgore. There are many different variations on who may be in power but if you've killed Papyrus he will leave you a short message.įlowey will appear and suggest that maybe you don't kill anyone next time, hinting at the true, pacifist ending. The last thing that will happen is Sans will give you a phone call and depending on who you have killed will update you on the Underground. This will likely mean you must battle Flowey as he has stolen the other human souls to gain power.įrom here you can escape the Underground but the monsters will still remain trapped. Then you will face off against Asgore and he will be killed by either yourself or Flowey. You'll also learn about their birth son and how both of them went to the surface to try to collect souls and destroy the barrier but failed. In this ending, once you have made your way to New Home you will learn about the history of this place and how a human child was adopted by the king and queen. The neutral ending will have several variations depending on how many people you killed or saved, the video above displays the happiest neutral ending. It's the most common ending achieved as without prior knowledge it's difficult to know that you can spare all the creatures. If you haven't been careful to kill or spare everyone this is the ending you'll come to. you can also use our Pacifist Walkthrough and Genocide Walkthrough to help you achieve these endings. If you want to achieve either the pacifist or genocide endings you'll want to decide that before you start the game. Doing this will permanently taint your save file, even for future playthroughs. Killing every creature and also purposefully triggering every random encounter to kill those creatures as well will get you the genocide ending. Killing even one enemy (including Jerry) will mean that you can't get the Pacifist ending - which is thought to be the game's true ending and it is recommended you do this on your first playthrough.ĭoing a mix of killing and sparing will get you one of the many variations of a neutral ending. While the change is small, the implications behind it are gigantic, so i undestand why most consider the true pacifist ending locked after doing the Genocide run.As you play through Undertale your actions will decide which endings you can achieve. Originally posted by Hotel Security: Should I have done the genocide route before the pacifist one? And getting through it is a legit challenge with some sweet bossfights.easily the best ones in the game. For one, it's a very quick run through the game even with you farming kills and it has a completely different feel from the other runs. Plus the Genocide final boss is a nice "ultimate end" to the three runs. I think Genocide assumes you know the full lore of the game that you learn on the Pacifist run. It's absolutely intended for Genocide to be the very last thing you see from the game, It's the same one with a few pixels changed. The Pacifist ending after Genocide is basically identical to the normal one except a character makes an different expression at the end. People say this all the time and it's overblown. If you do genocide run first you lock yourself out of a "true" true pacifist ending. No, because I feel the Pacifist runs parallel to your first run.it makes a lot more sense after the neutral run to kill no one in the second run and see all the stuff you missed, including the "true ending." There are also extra plot revelations in Pacifist that will be implied on Genocide so it's better if you know that stuff. Should I have done the genocide route before the pacifist one?
